Whitsunday Vacations is the leading luxury holiday rental agency in Whitsundays, Australia, with an exclusive portfolio of luxury vacation homes & apartments, including the prestigious Mandalay Aqua & Mandalay House.
CHALLENGE
Whitsunday Vacation's previous website, created in WordPress, used a generic WordPress theme for hotel bookings. Deprecated & redundant code needed to customize the generic theme negatively impacted site performance, functionality, security, search engine ranking & user experience. WordPress plugin conflicts increased maintenance costs, manually updating property details & availability was time-consuming, and the site lacked an online booking system.
SOLUTION
Create a vacation rental website in Webflow, designed for Whitsunday Vacations, delivering a responsive, modern design that is fast, secure and low maintenance. Integrating the website with property management software automates the display of real-time property details & availability. Holiday-makers can easily book their favourite vacation home or apartment via the new website and obtain information on local events, activities, restaurants & travel news.
DESIGN
The primary objective of the new design was to create a better user experience, enticing visitors to book luxury vacation rentals via the website rather than other booking platforms like Airbnb. Design considerations included improved brand alignment, greater functionality, mobile responsiveness and page-load performance.
DEVELOPMENT
Development commenced with bringing the new design to life in Webflow. We also looked at ways to automate internal processes, allowing the Whitsunday Vacations team to focus more on their guests. Integration with property management software and other website-related workflow enhancements helped achieve this goal.
OPTIMIZATION
BullShark Creative conducted search engine optimizations, competitor analysis and a keyword strategy before reviewing the existing website content, metadata and schemas. Building the website in Webflow avoided high quantities of unnecessary code commonly found in WordPress themes and plugins.
